Tamil Nadu Civil Service
The Tamil Nadu Civil Service, (abbreviated as TNCS) ((タミル語:தமிழ்நாடு குடியியல் பணி)), is the supreme state cadre civil service and the permanent bureaucracy of the Government of Tamil Nadu, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The recruitment to this Service is made on the basis of an annual competitive examination. The officers are included in the state cadre of civil service officers.
The cadres usually start from a designation lower in rank than Indian Administrative Service (IAS) (one of the All India Services). However the TNCS officers can gradually assume posts equivalent to IAS officers. The TNCS officers hold various crucial posts at the sub-district level while delivering various government services apart from conducting revenue administration and maintenance of law and order.
